A weekend getaway turns into a shopping trip.

I'm sorry the shop is currently closed - I'll be back on Wednesday, May 20th, at 12 PM.
I used this time to reflect on the weekend, and therefore, welcome to my blog. I had a great weekend shopping and, as often happens when I take time off, I got sick. After our Annie Sloan dealer meeting was canceled due to travel restrictions for some artists, I took the opportunity to travel with my family. We drove to Hanover to visit my son, who is studying there. He works part-time in a vintage furniture warehouse, and my Mother's Day gift was an exclusive shopping day in that very warehouse. I spent hours browsing the shelves and choosing what I wanted - we picked everything up the next day.
The next surprise: My husband had planned visits to three more vintage stores. I somewhat restrained myself from buying too much - an antique desk and a Mid-Century table were a must, both still need a lot of work (but I already have concrete plans for both). I also picked up a few plates for the etagere, some decorative old tin cans, a Mid-Century vase and a gravy boat, a ceramic fish pot and an Art Nouveau ceramic pot for barley. The lid is missing, but it's so beautiful that I just couldn't resist. It would make a wonderful vase, flower pot, or perhaps even a container for brushes. You can see all these pieces in my latest Instagram Reel on the @neukombiniert Laden in Lichterfelde account. I also bought two wooden boxes for an upcycling project that is still in the planning phase. One was a cigar box with practical dividers, the other a vintage Stollwerk Christmas cookie tin. Of course, that had to come back to Berlin - where it belongs.
On the way back on Tuesday, we stopped in Hanover again, where the vintage warehouse and two other warehouses next door had their monthly sale. It was incredible - and at the same time completely overwhelming, because the neukombiniert shop is quite small. Nevertheless, it was a great experience and I will definitely come back for the next sale. I think the cold already got to me a bit during this part of the trip, so I wasn't really in the mood to buy. But I filmed a lot, so there will definitely be some more Reels about these great shops on Instagram. Now I have a wonderful source for all the vintage furnishing pieces for the neukombiniert shop and for furniture for my Annie Sloan projects.
And finally, if you're still with me: The real reason for this website is that you can all shop at Neukombiniert even when the store is closed. You don't have to pay shipping costs, because at checkout you can choose the option to pick up your order in the shop. This means: If you see something in the window and I'm not there, you can still buy it without the risk of it being sold to someone else. However, I ask you to pick up your items within one week. The store is very small and unfortunately, I don't have much storage space. And now I just have to upload the many products to the webshop …..
